This project introduces a series of medusoid masks and a sculptural scenography for a new production of The Rite of Spring, reimagining the work as a contemporary ritual of surrender and renewal. Rather than illustrating Stravinsky’s mythic narrative, the costumes and set operate as autonomous art objects that actively shape how performers move, breathe, and negotiate space. The elastic, tentacled masks extend the dancers’ bodies into unstable, emotive forms, while the scenography creates a shifting environment where tension, rupture, and vulnerability become the material language of the performance. Together, these elements explore what it means to relinquish control—to offer something of oneself in order to let something else emerge—inviting the audience not merely to watch, but to witness an unfolding act of transformation.
