Fredrik Tjærandsen

Born 1995 Bodø, Norway.

Lives and works in London, UK.

Fredrik Tjærandsen (b. 1995, Bodø, Norway) is a London-based artist working across installation, sculpture, performance, and scenography. His practice investigates the shifting boundaries of the human body, drawing on philosophy, science, and the fugitive nature of sensory experience. Through temporal environments and choreographed spatial encounters, he explores how bodies move, perceive, and produce meaning.

Shaped by his upbringing in the Arctic, Tjærandsen often works with fragile, atmospheric materials that behave like weather—unstable, mutable, and alive. His installations dissolve the separation between the human, the natural, and the technological, bringing attention to the subtle, often invisible interior states that shape perception and bodily experience. He invites viewers into spaces where the real and the imagined intermingle, and where meaning emerges through shared, embodied experience.
