In this spatial yet minimalist work, humanity is brought both into manifestation and disappearance. Organised as an architecture that has the potential to be both open or withholding, the structures welcome the body to appear fully or, in equal measure, be permitted to vanish. In our time of heightened personal scrutiny and surveillance, this disappearance can on one hand be viewed as freeing, or alternatively imagined as a descent into the flows of a broader economy, where care and attention become uncertain – neither guaranteed nor explicitly withheld. This ambiguity reveals a lack, a subtle erosion of nurturance, where presence is both offered and withdrawn.
